Register 1: male dancer; female dancer; male dancer.
Register 2: male dancer; male musician playing drum and pipe; dancing jester holding a bauble.
Body, front
Hunter on foot holding a spear; archer holding a bow; trees.
End, right
Gathering of pears (?); man beating the tree to make the fruits fall; female figure collecting the fruits in her skirt; lady playing the harp; lady wearing a conical hennin; male musician playing the whistle.
Body, back
Knight jousting; knight in armour on horseback; knight with flying cloak (looking like winged knight).
End, left
Dogs pursuing a stag; dogs running; trees.
Crosshatched background. Foliated border.
Chequered pattern on the bottom.

Paris 1900 (if it is no. 190): end of the 15th century.

Engraved on all sides.

Object Condition
Missing: lock, numerous bone panels (including on on the back, with the opposing knight; see Bouillon box for comparison) and strips, bone and tinted wood squares on the bottom. Some of the detached strips are kept inside the box.

Acquired in 1865.
