Inscription on the back of the predella: 'DVRRADE RELINERIN VON HALDABERG'. Later incised inscription: 'Zeillerin'.
On the back of the centre panel: 'C.S. M [...] TP Anno 1632'.
Object Condition
The lower part of the stand is a later addition.
Provenance
Belonged to (and possibly commissioned by) Dorothy Rehlinger von Haldenberg, Heldenberg, Haltenberg: nun in the Dominican convent of St Catherine in Augsburg and in 1522, founder and prevost of a monastery in Hirschzell near Kaufbeuren. Collection of Max Schmucker, engineer, Munich (by 1922); acquired from him in 1929.
