Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls. 
Border of dentils; pointed trefoils.

Williamson and Davies 2014: Mosan or Rhenish, c. 1360-1380.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy; red (Christ's hair and body, architectural details, around the border).

Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax, with a raised border. Circular blue and white label with inscription: '613'.

Comments
Traces of glue along the upper border of the panel.

Provenance
Acquired after the death of Alfred Williams Hearn (b. 1842, d. 1903) by his widow Ellen Hearn, Menton: given by her to the Museum in 1923.
