Object Condition
Missing: head of the figure and part of the animal she is holding.
Broken in four pieces between the late 1970s and 2004 when the breakage was noted.
Comments
This piece was interpreted as being saint Agnes, holding the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) but, although the figure holds an animal, it is impossible to tell whether it is a lamb or a dog.
Provenance
Found at Cambrai during excavations in 1892; collection of François Roussel, architect in Lille: his gift to the Museum on 3 March 1914.
