Side 1: standing Virgin and Child; Christ holding a rosary
Side 2: saint Augustine of Hippo, as a bishop, with mitre, crozier and a heart.
Crosshatched background. Foliated decoration. Scallop shell niche. Twisted columns.

Kryzhanovskaya 2014: Flemish, late 15th century.

Carved on both sides.

Object Condition
Both sides of the pendant are worn.

Comments
Recess in the middle of the upepr edge for the belt.

Provenance
Collection of Nikolai Petrovich Balashov (b. 1840, d. 1931), Saint Petersburg; donated to the Museum of the Society for the Encouragement of the Fine Arts (Muzei OPKh) before 1902; transferred to the Hermitage in 1919.
