Width: 38 mm (at base)

Seated Virgin and Child; Virgin holding a fruit in her left hand; Christ seated on the Virgin's right knee; Christ in long robe; blessing gesture; crown.

Williamson and Davies 2014: French (probably Paris), c. 1300-1320.

Unknown

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
The surface seems to have been stripped and parts of it are now covered in a white film, possibly a water-based paint.
The crown is probably a modern replacement.

Comments
Hole in the underside.

Provenance
Collection of Canon Lewis Gilbertson, Rector of St Martin's Church, Ludgate Hill, London, by 1923; bequeathed to the museum by Mrs Gilbertson (d. 1940) in memory of her husband, in 1940.
