Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Engraved pointed trefoil in the upper left corner (added).

Williamson and Davies 2014: French, c. 1325-1350. Frame: 19th century, probably Mediterranean.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Hidden by the later mounting. Label with inscription: '64' (Murray Bequest).

Object Condition
Very worn; discoloured.
Missing: part of the right border including lower right corner.
Five holes. Indents in the left and right borders.

Comments
The frame appears to have been made as a base for a crucifix (slot in the upper surface).

Collection of Captain Henry Boyles Murray, London, before 1910; Murray bequest in 1910.
