Saint John the Baptist holding the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei); camel hide; standing Virgin and Child; two angels crowning the Virgin; saint Catherine of Alexandria with wheel and martyr's palm.
Wing, right
Crucifixion; Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers; rugged cross.
Row of blind arches; border of dentils.

London 1923: French, late 14th century.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth, with scoring.

Object Condition
The lower right corner of the left wing is broken (caused by the new hinge).
Missing: part of the background between saint John the Baptist and the Virgin.

Provenance
Collection of Mr and Mrs Ernest C. Innes (at least 1923-1935): Innes sale, Christie's, London, 12 December 1935, lot 47. Collection of Mrs M. E. Ruffer: bequeathed to the National Trust in 1959; now in the Flint Cottage Collection.
