Attribution
Unknown

Polychromy - Gilding
Gilding and polychromy: gold (hair, crowns, etc.), blue or red (lining of garments), blue and green (architectural details); blue spandrels with gold medallions enclosing a red cross.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Trace of an earlier metal frame.

Object Condition
The ivory leaves are set into a later hinged frame with clasp. It is possible this arrangement replicates the original.

Provenance
Collection of John Webb (b. 1799, d. 1880), London, by 1867; on loan to the Museum from 1867; purchased from him by the Museum in 1872.
