Wing, left
Register 1: Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Nativity; angel holding a scroll (evoking the Annunciation to the Shepherds).
Register 2: Betrayal (Taking of Christ; Kiss of Judas); Christ restores Malchus' ear, cut by saint Peter; saint Peter sheathing his sword after cutting off Malchus' ear.
Register 3: Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist; Longinus with spear kneeling in prayer; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar; Stephaton holding a bucket. 
Wing, right
Register 1: Adoration of the Magi. Agony in the Garden (Christ at Gethsemane); apostles asleep; trees.
Register 2: soldier with heart-shaped shield; Death of Judas (Judas hanging). Flagellation; whips.
Register 3: Three Holy Women at the Tomb, with angel seated on the tomb and three soldiers asleep; shields. Noli me Tangere (Christ appearing to saint Mary Magdalene); tree.

Museum's opinion 2013: French, 19th century.

Hinges
Three hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Blue and white labels with inscriptions: '1193' and '1133'.

Object Condition
Missing: part of the staff held by Stephaton.

Provenance
In the collection assembled by Alexandre Le Grand for the museum by 1888. Described in a pre-1888 handwritten inventory kept at the museum as: 'Diptyque en ivoire: scènes de la vie de Jésus.' (p. 7).
