Hinges
Fittings for hinged doors.

Reverse
Circular recess, possibly for a mirror.

Object Condition
Rectangular case of 5 sections secured by four copper alloy rivets which have stained the bone green.
Missing: part of the horizontal lower piece of bone on the reverse.

Comments
This piece is similar to Inv. 21805, also in the Museum of London.

Provenance
Found in Earl Street, Finsbury, London (Islington) in 1870. Acquired by the Guildhall Museum in or before 1908; London Museum merged with the Guildhall Museum in 1976 to form the Museum of London.
