Wing, left
Register 1: Adoration of the Magi.
Register 2: tonsured male figure kneeling in donor position, with knotted belt (a Franciscan monk?); saint John the Baptist holding the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei); saint Francis of Assisi displaying his stigmata; saint Louis (king Louis IX of France) with sceptre and crown; unidentified bishop saint holding a crown, with crozier, mitre and knotted belt (possibly saint Louis of Toulouse).
Wing, right
Register 1: Crucifixion, with spear pointing towards the Virgin's chest; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls.
Register 2: saint Catherine of Alexandria holding a wheel and martyr's palm; saint Mary Magdalene or saint Clare holding an ointment pot; saint Agnes with a lamb; unidentified female saint (nun) holding a book and a martyr's palm.
Border of dentils; incised trefoils.

Museum's opinion 2009: French, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Unknown

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Rests of glue and fabric and label with ink inscription '340' on the back of the right wing.

Object Condition
Right leaf vertically broken and repaired.
Missing: right arm of Christ and part of the background and of the spear, in the Crucifixion scene.
Two holes on either side of the crack, in the upper and lower part of the leaf (probably to secure an earlier repair). Central hole in the upper part of the left panel.

Provenance
Collection of Sir Julius Wernher (d. 1912), Bath House, London; on loan to English Heritage and displayed at Ranger's House since 2002.
