Ivory

Height: 98mm
Width: 61mm
Depth: 8mm

Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers; man holding shield with a face; sun and moon. 
Medallions enclosing quatrefoils with protruding cones in the gables. Pointed trefoils. Pinnacles.

Museum's opinion 2009: Meuse workshop, 2nd third of the 14th century (based on the opinion of Danièle Gaborit-Chopin, Curator at the Louvre, 2002).

Traces of polychromy.

Reverse
Reverse with compartments for the weights.

Object Condition
Two central holes in the upper part of the panel.

Provenance
Maybe part of the bequest made by Félix and Josias Le Sérurier in 1883 (museum archives disappeared in 1917).
