Seated Virgin and Child; Christ Child standing on the Virgin's left knee; Child holding an apple in his right hand; Virgin holding a bird in her right hand; crown.

Attribution
Unknown

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of red on the lining of the Virgin's cloak and traces of gilding along the hems.

Reverse
The back is curved and the lower half is scored for attachment to a throne.

Object Condition
Missing: some fleurons of the crown; lower part of the robe of the Virgin damaged on both sides.
Candle burns on the face of the Virgin.

Provenance
Bought by Henry Walters from Jacques Seligmann in Paris in 1912; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
