Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers; rugged cross.

Museum's opinion 2012: French (?), 14th century.

Hinges
Remains of two metal hinges on the left side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Inscribed with an incised geometrical mark below a large stain. Inscriptions: 'S.K. N. 87', '16', '14'.

Object Condition
Cracked.

Comments
Inscription on the front: 'VI2'.

Provenance
Collection of Hugo Garthe (d. 1876), Cologne; collection of Dr Peter Wings, Aachen; his bequest to the Museum in 1893.
