Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy: patterned hems of clothes.

Reverse
Flat. A few deeper horizontal cuts, especially behind Christ.
Lower section crosshatched.

Object Condition
The hands of the Virgin have been restored.
Missing: end of fingers on Christ's left hand.

Provenance
Guasconi collection, Milan; acquired by the Museum in 1863.
