Width: 53mm (ivory only)

Nativity and Annunciation to the Shepherds; sheep.
Border of dentils; incised trefoils.

Museum's opinion 2013: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Reverse
Reverse divided into 5 compartments, the central one being circular.

Object Condition
Each tablet has remains of a powdery white substance on its surface, both on the front and reverse.

Comments
This tablet originally belonged to the same set of writing tablets as Inv. K0053/2013, also in the Detmold collection. Both panels have been inserted into identical Baroque frames decorated with putti, cherubs, shells and stags. Each frame measures 210mm x 145mm.
