Inscription: 'D[omi]n[u]s Will[el]m[u]s Lidiat' (14th century), perhaps of Lydiate Hall near Ormskirk in Lancashire.

Comments
The left wing of this diptych is London, Victoria and Albert Museum, 161-1896 (see Gibson 1994, pl. XXXVb).

Provenance
'Dominus Willelmus Lidiat', possibly a member of the Lydiate family, of Lydiate hall (Lancashire): 14th-century inscription 'Dominus Willelmus Lidiat'. Gabor Fejérváry collection: inherited at his death in 1851 by his nephew Ferenc Pulszky; sold to Joseph Mayer in 1855; given by Joseph Mayer to the town of Liverpool in 1867. In Fejérváry Collection, Mayer Museum, Liverpool by 1876.
