Pyramus and Thisbe
Register 1: Pyramus observes Thisbe through a crack in the wall. Thisbe and the lion.
Register 2: Thisbe finds refuge from the lion in a tree; the lion bites Thisbe's veil; Pyramus kills the lion, thinking it has killed Thisbe.
Border of dentils.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Four holes and three long incisions alongside the left edge.
White and blue label with the inscription: 'Collection Wernher no. 270'.

Object Condition
Central hole in the upper part of the panel.

Provenance
Collection of Sir Julius Wernher (d. 1912), Bath House, London; on loan to English Heritage and displayed at Ranger's House since 2002.
