Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Trace of later metal fittings now lost.

Object Condition
Three later holes in the centre to the left, probably giving evidence of a lost clasp which would have held the diptych closed. Further later holes in each corner. All these holes probably secured later metal fittings, the trace of which is visible on the back.

Comments
The right wing is now in the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore (Inv. 71.102). See related object.

Provenance
Kunsthandel Albrecht Neuhaus Würzburg; Berlin, Grisebach, 30 May 2013, lot 253; purchased by the Foundation in 2013.
