Curved.The handle which was originally set into a chamfered slot in the back has been lost. The slot is stepped in a strange way.Blue and white label with pencil inscription: '849'. Blue and white label with inscription: '1908'. This number is repeated on the ivory. Inscription 'M.M' (presumably referring to 'Musée du Mans').
Object Condition
The pax has broken vertically into two pieces which have been glued back together.
