Traces of two hinges on the left side (back) and two hinges on the right side (at the front). The traces of the right hand side hinges have vanished as a strip of ivory has been used to repair this side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Missing: most of the right border (repaired with a strip of ivory), parts of the left border where two hinges were (visible only from the back).
Crack above the left hand side group of apostles.
Two plugged holes at the top of the gable for suspension.

Comments
This panel seems to be part of the same group as one at the Victoria and Albert Museum (242-1867), one at the Musée du Louvre in Paris (OA 2761), and one at the Montpellier Musée archéologique (SAM 857.17.1). See related objects. Davies argues for them coming from two different polyptychs (see Williamson and Davies 2014).

Provenance
Acquired in 1859 from M. Weidenhaupt, priest at Weisme (near Malmédy).
