Register 1: Crucifixion; Saint John the Evangelist; onlookers; swooning Virgin supported by the Holy women; angels holding the sun and the moon; Longinus with spear kneeling in prayer; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar.
Register 2: Standing Virgin and Child; saint Agnes with a lamb and book; saint Catherine of Alexandria with wheel and martyr's palm; saint Michael and the devil.
Foliated border.

Gaborit-Chopin 2003 and Museum's opinion 2010: 19th century (before 1882 when it was in the Timbal collection).

Panel bevelled. Artificial cracks.

Object Condition
Ivory covered in varnish to imitate patina.
Small chips to the edges.

Provenance
Collection of Louis-Charles Timbal (no. 56); acquired from him by the Musée du Louvre in 1882.
