Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls.
Border of dentils.

Randall 1993: French (Paris), 3rd quarter of the 14th century.

Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax, with a raised border. Black tape.
Mathias Komor label with inscription: 'O. 834 XIV'.

Object Condition
Hole above the central arch. Each corner pierced with a modern hole, probably for mounting.
Missing: part of lower right border.

Comments
Randall (1993) notes that this tablet comes from the same workshop as a leaf from a diptych in the Seattle Art Museum (51.125).

Provenance
Bought from Mathias Komor, New York, in 1959 (Credit line: Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Snow in memory of their daughter, Annie E. Snow (Class of 1938)).
