Seated Virgin and Child; musician angels (string instruments including a rebec); throne decorated with tracery.

Dijon 1917: France, 14th century.
Maurice 1983 and Museum's opinion 2011: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Missing: right side of the panel.
Chipped along the edges. Vertical crack down the middle of the panel.

Comments
This piece may have been the left wing of a diptych. The hinges would have been on the right side which has now broken off.

Provenance
Collection of Henri Baudot: his sale, Dijon, 1894. Collection of Henri and Sophie Grangier; Grangier bequest in 1905.
