Wing, left
Register 1: Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Visitation.
Register 2: Death of the Virgin (Dormition); Christ holding the soul of the Virgin; apostles.
Wing, right
Register 1: Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls; rugged cross; sun and moon.
Register 2: Decollation of saint John the Baptist (Martyrdom of saint John the Baptist); Salome holding a large bowl to receive the head.
Border of dentils.

Randall 1993: Flemish, 3rd quarter of the 14th century.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Incised inscriptions on the back of the right wing: 'A I?' and 'X'.

Object Condition
Broken around the lower hinge.

Emile Baboin collection, Lyon. Bought from Raphael Stora, New York in 1952.
