Seated Virgin and Child (Virgo Lactans); Christ half-kneeling in the Virgin's lap; Christ in long robe; bench.

Liebgott 1985 and Museum's opinion 2013: France, end of the 13th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: red (Virgin's cloak).

Reverse
Carved in the round. Back of the throne flat with scoring.

Object Condition
Chipped around the base.
Trace of a missing crown on the Virgin's head, probably in metal. Nails in the head of Christ possibly for a metal crown.

Provenance
Gift of G. Larsen in 1885.
