Slightly convex. Labels with inscriptions: '1690' and 'Inv. 4408'.
Object Condition
Numerous holes (plugged) for the missing fittings. One large hole at each corner. Vertical crack at the upper left corner.
Comments
This piece probably was part of a casket, possibly the lid.
Provenance
Collection of Louis and Marie Grobet-Labadié (not mentioned in their book of purchases); Marie, following the death of her second husband, Louis Grobet, in 1917, gave her collection to the city of Marseille in 1919; the museum opened to the public in 1925.
