Hidden by the tortoise shell backing.

Comments
This piece, judging from the remaining hinge on the left side, either formed diptych with another openwork ivory scene on the left, or had a cover closing over it.

Provenance
Collection of Nicolas E. Landau, Paris: sold by Landau to the Museum of Fine Arts for $600 in 1957 (Theodora Wilbour Fund in memory of Charlotte Beebe Wilbour).
