Wing, left
Register 1: Betrayal (Taking of Christ; Kiss of Judas); Christ restores Malchus' ear, cut by saint Peter; man holding nails and a hammer; lantern; Death of Judas (Judas hanging); tree.
Register 2: Entry into Jerusalem.
Wing, right
Register 1: Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls; Longinus piercing Christ's side; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar; Stephaton holding a bucket.
Register 2: Last Supper with saint John the Evangelist leaning on Christ's breast; Judas reaching out for a fish; Christ feeding an Judas across the table; knife; ewer.
Pointed trefoils.

Szablowski 1969, 1975: France, 2nd half of the 14th century
Fischinger 1982: Paris, 2nd half of the 14th century
Chodyński 1996, France, 3rd quarter of 14th century
Łaguna-Chevillotte 1999: probably 19th century
D. Gaborit-Chopin (after examination of the piece on 20 March 2003): German, Kremsmünster style (?), 14th or 15th century
Cracow 2011: German, Kremsmünster style (?), late 14th century or early 15th century.


Attribution
Style of the Kremsmünster Master (?)

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges chamfered. Traces of two later hinges on the back.
Circular blue and white label with traces of illegible inscription.

Object Condition
Lower left corner of the left wing chipped.
Missing: upper left corner of the right wing.
Vertical crack in the middle of the right wing.

Provenance
Probably in the Sapieha family collection in Krasiczyn Castle (Poland) before 1939. Confiscated by the communist Ministry of Public Security of Poland in 1952; on loan to the Wawel Royal Castle from 1954 to 1998; donated by Michał Sapieha to the Wawel Royal Castle in 1998.
