Register 2: youth with a hawk on his wrist; tree surrounded by a woven fence; lady holding a cornucopia; sun.

Dog. hunter with a spear; tree.
End, right
Dog pursuing a boar; trees.
Body, back
Dog pursuing an animal; tree.
End, left
Hunter with a spear, blowing a horn; dog; trees.
Bottom: chess board (chequered pattern).
Crosshatched background; foliated borders.

Jülich 2007: Flanders or Upper Rhine, 2nd half of 15th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: green (trees).

Reverse
Carved on all sides.

Object Condition
Missing: clamp of the lock; some of the metal rings for hanging; some of the framing panels.
Original brass lock replaced by an iron lock.

Provenance
Collection of Friedrich Marx: Marx bequest to the Museum in 1919.
