Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Ivory is dark brown in colour. Cracked. Parts of lower border missing. Gouge in the right border, probably for missing clasp.

Comments
Randall (1993) notes that it is unusual to find the scene of the Dormition in the right wing of a diptych, as it is traditionally on the left, opposite the Coronation.

Provenance
Bought from Mathias Komor, New York, in 1964.
