Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two angels holding chalices.
Medallions enclosing quatrefoils with protruding cones in the spandrels.

Museum's opinion 2012: France, 19th century, in a 14th century style.

Reverse
Hidden by the frame. Round label with handwritten inscription: 'Moses Lazarus collection, 1890', 'd551'. Other labels: '8' and '916.

Object Condition
Vertical crack down the middle of the piece. This panel seems to be made of several pieces of ivory.

Comments
This piece forms a pair with another panel in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (90.22.9).

Provenance
Collection of Sarah Lazarus: gift of Sarah Lazarus to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in memory of Moses Lazarus, in 1890.
