Left
Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls. 
Right
Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels swinging censers and holding navettes.
Pointed trefoils.

Museum's opinion 2009: Paris, c. 1360-1380 (based on the opinion of Danièle Gaborit-Chopin, Curator at the Louvre, 2004).

Unknown

Reverse
Reverse of the Crucifixion scene divided into 5 compartments, the central one being circular. This indicates that this panel originally was part of a set of writing tablets. Remains of wax. Label with inscription: '1569'.

Object Condition
Vertical breaks down both panels.

Comments
Later mounted in a hinged wooden frame to form a diptych.

Provenance
Part of the bequest made by Félix and Josias Le Sérurier in 1883 (see label on the back).
