Entombment (Anointing of Christ's body).
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Williamson and Davies 2014: French (probably Paris), 1340-1360.

Hinges
Trace of one missing hinge on the left side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges chamfered.

Object Condition
The top of the ivory has been cut.
Central hole in the upper part of the panel.

Comments
This piece once formed the lower register of the right wing of a diptych.

Provenance
Acquired from William Cunningham, Clapham, London, in 1920.
