Extensive traces of polychromy (including violet) and gilding: faces; crowns; hems.

Reverse
Curved.

Object Condition
Prior to WWII
Broken at the base of the seat.
Today
Almost completely destroyed during WWII: five fragments have survived.

Provenance
Nagler collection, Berlin; acquired by the Kunstkammer in 1835; undocumented after 7 April 1945; a fragment of the Virgin was returned by the Soviet Union to the Museum in 1958 while four more fragments were brought to Wiesbaden in 1946 and then to Berlin-Dahlem in 1958.
