Register 2: Education of saint Louis.
Centre panel
Register 1: Communion of saint Louis. Unidentified scene; saint Louis; Muslims; crown; falchions.
Register 2: Saint Louis giving justice beneath the oak of Vincennes; tree; canopy. Acts of mercy of saint Louis: washing the feet of the poor.
Wing, right
Register 1: unidentified scene.
Register 2: Saint Louis carrying the crown of thorns and the three nails towards the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris; procession.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Museum's opinion 2013: French (?), 19th century.

Two hinges on either side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Provenance
In the collection assembled by Alexandre Le Grand for the museum by 1888. Described in a pre-1888 handwritten inventory kept at the museum as: 'Un triptyque en ivoire: Vie de St Louis.' (p. 7).
