Comments
The screw thread in the base seems to indicate that it was used as a handle (see Malgouyres 2010).

Provenance
Acquired by Charles Sauvageot in 1855 ('2606 figurine de femme-ivoire-baigneuse XIV 10 [fr.]'); donation to the Museum by Sauvageot in 1856.
