Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist; onlookers holding scrolls.
Wing, right
Resurrection; two angels standing on the tomb with hands in prayer; three soldiers asleep; soldiers in armour.

Williamson and Davies 2014: Probably Mosan or Rhenish, about 1340-70.

Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges slightly chamfered. Labels with inscription '552;' 'I.6.'

Provenance
Possibly in the collection of Hollingworth Magniac (b. 1786, d. 1867). Fountaine collection, Narford Hall, Norfolk: sale, Christie, Manson & Woods, London, 16 June 1884, lot 522; bought by Frederick Litchfield, art dealer, London. John McAndrew, Holy Hill, Coleman's Hatch, Sussex: sale, Christie's, 2 December 1925, lot 149; collection of Canon Lewis Gilbertson of Bedford Square (d. 1940), Rector of St Martin's Church, Ludgate Hill, London; bequeathed by Mrs. Edith Gilbertson in memory of her husband in 1940.
