Register 1: Christ washing the feet of the apostles.
Register 2: Agony in the Garden (Christ at Gethsemane); Betrayal (Taking of Christ; Kiss of Judas); Christ restores Malchus' ear, cut by saint Peter; man holding a lantern.
Register 3: Crucifixion; cruciform halo; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls; Longinus piercing Christ's side; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar; skull of Adam at the foot of the cross.

Molinier 1890: France, 14th century.
Koechlin 1924: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.
Randall 1985: Germany (Mainz), 4th quarter of the 14th century.
Detroit 1997 and Museum's opinion 2010: Germany (Mainz), c. 1375-1400. Attributed to the Kremsmünster Master (a carver named after a diptych now in the abbey of Kremsmünster in Austria).

The genuine left wing is now in Lyon (Musée des Beaux-Arts). See related objects.
