Crucifixion with thieves; Virgin supported by saint John the Evangelist and one of the Holy Women; crowd of onlookers and soldiers; saint Mary Magdalene embracing the foot of the cross; skull of Adam at the foot of the cross; titulus.
Columns decorated with fleur-de-lis.

Mallé 1969: Germany or Northern Italy (?), end of 15th century.
Museum's opinion 2010: Germany or Northern Italy (?), end of 15th century or 19th century (?)

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive traces of polychromy (green) and gilding.

Reverse
Carved foliated border. Traces of painted floral decoration. Curved.
Ivory handle.

Comments
Known between ca. 1950 and 1987 as Inv. 187. Later pencil inscriptions: '197' and '187' (the latter corresponds to the former Museum number). Accorsi label '5027'. The edge is carved with foliated decoration.

Provenance
Bought from the antique dealer Pietro Accorsi (Turin) in 1940.
