Wing, left
Nativity and Annunciation to the Shepherds; shepherd with a musical instrument (trumpet); standing angel holding a scroll; sheep.
Wing, right
Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist.

Koechlin 1924: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.
Maurice 1983 and Museum's opinion 2011: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy (?): green (spandrels and background).

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Repairs around the hinges. Hole in each upper corner. Hole in the upper border in each of the wings. All holes are certainly post-medieval. Crack to the right of Christ's body.

Comments
According to B. Maurice, these were two panels which were later hinged to form a diptych (Maurice, 1983).
