Wing, left
Register 1: Adoration of the Magi.
Register 2: saint Peter holding a key; saint James the Greater with pilgrim's hat, staff and satchel; saint Paul holding a sword.
Wing, right
Register 1: saint John the Baptist holding the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei); saint Laurence holding a gridiron; saint Stephen holding a stone.
Register 2: saint Catherine of Alexandria with wheel and martyr's palm; saint Veronica holding a cloth with the Holy Face of Christ (Sancta facies) (Veronica's veil); saint Mary Magdalene with ointment pot.
Border of dentils. Tiled roof.

Museum's opinion 2009: French, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Hinges
Single modern hinge. Three holes visible on the inner side of the right wing.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy and gilding: architectural details, hair, key, hems, etc.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Darker border along the outer edges.

Object Condition
Missing: part of the lower border of the right wing.
The right wing is broken in two pieces along a vertical axis. Three holes in the outer edge of both right and left wings. Hole in the upper edge of each wing for suspension.

Provenance
Collection of Sir Julius Wernher (d. 1912), Bath House, London; on loan to English Heritage and displayed at Ranger's House since 2002.
