Object Condition
Slight restoration in background behind angels and columns. Broken around the hinges: replacement elements along left and right sides.

Provenance
Francis Douce collection (until 1824). Collection of Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick, Goodrich Court, Hertfordshire (until 1848). John Malcolm Poltalloch, County Argyll, Scotland. Colonel Edward Donald Malcolm: sold, Christie's, London, 1 May 1913, lot 20. Bought from Durlacher Brothers, London, in 1923, thanks to the gift of J. H. Wade and Mr and Mrs John Severance.
