Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge Glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Tracery. Pinnacles. Blind arches.

Museum's opinion 2009: French, late 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side (?).

Reverse
Flat and smooth, with some crosshatching in the upper part. Three chamfered edges (outer edges, if the hinges were indeed along the right side).
Label with inscription: '449'.
Blue and white label with inscription: 'Collection Wernher no. 271'.

Object Condition
Missing: candles.

Provenance
Collection of Sir Julius Wernher (d. 1912), Bath House, London; on loan to English Heritage and displayed at Ranger's House since 2002.
