Depth: 32 mm (including handle)

Saint Martin and the beggar.
Columns; foliated decoration; crosshatched background.
On left side running upwards incised inscription: 'Guinest' (?).

Warren 2014: Flanders or France, c. 1500.

Unknown

Reverse
Curved. Ivory handle.

Object Condition
Splits in the ivory, one running down from top centre.
Repair at bottom edge of the handle, using a new piece of ivory.

Provenance
Collection of David Black, in 1946. Collection of John Francis Mallett; his bequest to the Museum in 1947.
