Register 1: Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls.
Register 2: Adoration of the Magi.
Wing, right
Register 1: Noli me Tangere (Christ appearing to saint Mary Magdalene); trees.
Register 2: Entry into Jerusalem; apostles including saint John the Evangelist holding a marty's palm; city gate.

Berliner 1926: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.
Munich 2010: Northern France or Netherlands, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Two broken hinges.

Flat and smooth.
Back of the left wing
Inscriptions: 'Aus der Residenz' and '117. Red wax.
Back of the right wing
Inscription: 'Aus der Residenz'. Blue and white label with inscription: 'No. 904'.

Comments
Believed to have once formed part of a polyptych.

Provenance
Residenz, Munich (see inscription on the back of the left wing). Transferred from the Königliche Vereinigte Sammlungen, Munich, to the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in 1866.
