Seated Virgin and Child; Christ in long robe; Christ standing in the Virgin's lap; Virgin holding a bird in her right hand; Christ holding the wings of the same bird with both hands; brooch; crown; bench.

Museum's opinion 2012: France, 1st half of the 14th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: red (Virgin's lips).

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Missing: head of Christ, front of his upper body and right arm; Virgin's left forearm, end of her shoes (possibly due to the shortening of the statuette).
Crown chipped.

Provenance
Collection of Ida and Friedrich Vortmann, Berlin; donated to the Museum on 28 February 1919.
