Wing, left
Register 1: Carrying of the Cross with the Virgin helping Christ; executioner with winged hat. Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; Sun and Moon.
Register 2: Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Nativity; sheep.
Wing, right
Register 1: Resurrection; two angels in prayer standing in the tomb. Noli me Tangere (Christ appearing to saint Mary Magdalene); tree.
Register 2: Adoration of the Magi; attendant with horses.
Incised trefoils in the spandrels.

Bock 1867: Northern France or Flanders, mid-14th century.
Westwood 1876: Northern France, mid-14th century.
Budapest 1972, Budapest 1978 and Koroknay 1979: French, 14th century.
Budapest 2002: Paris, end of the 14th century.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges slightly chamfered.

Object Condition
Several repairs made with later ivory insertions and plugs visible on both sides.

Provenance
First collection of Miklós Jankovich (1772-1846); bought from him by the Hungarian National Museum (Pesth National Museum)in 1836; transferred to the Museum of Applied Arts in 1936.
