Object Condition
Missing: Upper part of the thumb (?) (was not broken when it was drawn by Soulat in 1876 (see Bibliography).

Comments
The game of Jonchets consisted in throwing small decorated sticks (made of ivory or boxwood) onto a table and then trying to retrieve them one by one without moving the others (like the modern game of Mikado).

Provenance
Found in Issoudun when levelling works were carried out on the land stretching between the Place Saint-Louis (former ditches of the castle) and the Palais de Justice (built on the site where the Abbaye Notre-Dame once was); acquired by the Museum in 1876.
